Horizon, Resident Evil Village, and more are coming to PlayStation VR2

Horizon, Resident Evil Village, and more will be available on PlayStation VR2 in the near future.

In the latest State of Play showcase, Sony revealed some of the games that will be compatible with the PSVR2 headset. We don't know the headset's price or release date yet, but at least we know what kinds of games we can expect. Even though Sony has promised to launch the headset with 20 "major" games, the company still has some work to do to fill in the gaps between now and launch of the headset. We've included trailers and the most important details in this section.

CALL OF THE MOUNTAIN'S HORIZON CALL IS STILL OUTSTANDING

Horizon Call of the Mountain, a PSVR2 exclusive from Guerilla Games, was shown off in a gameplay demo. There appears to be a great deal of climbing, and the visuals are absolutely breathtaking. In terms of gameplay, I'm most interested in the satisfying-looking bow combat, and I'm curious how the game handles tricky VR controls while fighting mechanical creatures.

RESIDENT EVIL 8 IS GETTING VR SUPPORT

Resident Evil Village will receive a PSVR2 VR patch from Capcom in the near future. Similar to Resident Evil 7, Capcom's first-person horror adventure is only available in virtual reality through Sony's headset. Capcom did not reveal a specific date for the VR content's release, but it appears to be soon. We saw Ethan's ability to switch weapons between hands like a gunslinger, which is exactly what I'm looking for in a first-person VR game.

EVIL 4’S REMAKE IS ALSO COMING TO PSVR2 — IN SOME FORMAT

The first look at the Resident Evil 4 remake kicked off Capcom's State of Play presentation. A third-person adventure (similar to the original) is being developed for PSVR2 content, Sony has confirmed. Whether this will turn the game into a first-person shooter, like the VR adaptation that landed on the Meta Quest 2 in 2021, is not yet clear, however If that's the case, then the experience would presumably be much higher-resolution and more immersive.
